About Local Shop Campaign

The Local Shop Campaign was introduced to support traders in Tewkesbury, Winchcombe and Bishops Cleeve and help them promote their businesses following the Gloucestershire floods in 2007.

Funded by Severn Trent Water, Rural Renaissance and SWRDA, the Campaign is managed by The Retail Support Group, a group of retailers in the 3 areas, and facilitated by Gloucestershire First in partnership with Tewkesbury Borough Council.

The two year campaign has helped promote all three communities and raise their profiles in an increasingly competitive sector. The work undertaken has seen the implementation of a shop frontage improvement grants, shopping guides, gift vouchers, retail awards, Christmas promotions and this website, all to critical acclaim.

This website has been designed to provide an on-line presence for all retailers and small businesses in these three communities and to further raise the profile of the area to ensure it survives as a thriving, commercially active destination for shoppers.
